Shelley Rogers JohnsonPrincipal ArtistShelley is a native Californian who has lived in Ventura for over twenty years. She works in drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, oils on porcelain and jewelry. In addition to producing original and commissioned art, she teaches in all her mediums.
Shelley has exhibited at the California Sculptor’s Symposium, the California Association of Porcelain Artists, Art City and the Bell Arts Factory. After retiring from private practice as an occupational therapist, Shelley studied art fundamentals and technique at Ventura College. She then went on to study figure sculpture at Cope Studios in Burbank. Shelley is active in the arts community, and currently serves as a board member for the California Sculptors Symposium. As a therapist, Shelley acquired a deep appreciation for the dexterity of the human hand. As an artist she works to realize the full potential of the hand, eye and heart through the creation of beautiful objects. |
