Shelley Rogers Johnson
Principal Artist

Shelley is a native Californian who has lived in Ventura for over two decades. She creates in sculpture, painting, porcelain painting, ceramics and jewelry. In addition to producing original art, she teaches in all mediums at her home studio.

Shelley has exhibited at the California Sculptor’s Symposium, the California Association of Porcelain Artists and the Ventura Arts Collective. You can meet her at most local art fairs, including First Fridays at the Bell Art Factory.

After retiring from twenty years  in private practice as an occupational therapist, Shelley studied art fundamentals and technique at Ventura College. She then studied figure sculpture with Karen Cope and porcelain painting with Lois White and Brenda Morgan Moore. Shelley is active in the arts community, serving as a board member for the California Sculpture Symposium and  Seashore Porcelain Artists.

As a therapist, Shelley acquired a deep appreciation for the dexterity of the human hand. As an artist she works to realize the full potential of the hand, eye and heart through the creation of beautiful objects.

Shelley is a member of the board for the California Sculptors Symposium and NEMA, Neighbors Engaged in Multicultural Arts. She is also a member of the Ventura County Potters Guild, The Ojai Arts Association and Studio Channel Islands.
